Exmoor & North Devon Autumn Walking Festival - September 2009
A new Autumn walking festival has recently been announced due to the popularity of the walking festival earlier in the year. The festival covers Exmoor and North Devon . It takes place from Friday 18th September to Monday 21st September 2009 .
Through popular request a new 4-day festival has been created as well as the 9-day walking festival in early May. This is a great time of year to be out walking and enjoying a Short break at The Old Rectory Hotel, with the start of the autumn colours and berries on the bushes.
As usual the festival has 8 guided walks each day to choose from. These include half-day walks through to full day hikes. In the September 09 and May 10 festivals we are celebrating the North Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’s 50th anniversary, offering a good choice of walks in this coastal strip. Exmoor offers the more challenging walks and North Devon countryside gives the walker some pleasant rolling country strolls.
To view and book on to the walks, please visit the festival web site www.exmoorwalking.co.uk , or call Ilfracombe Tourist Information Centre (TIC) on 01271 863001. The web site is the only medium to see this festival’s walks so please visit the site before calling the TIC, should you prefer to book by phone.
We have a few rooms left for the period of the festival - please contact us or book on line

Hotel Reviewed in Flavour Magazine
We were thrilled and very proud that Flavour Magazine, a foody magazine for the Southwest, came to stay with us for a short break and wrote a great double page review article about their timewith us all at The Old Rectory Hotel.
It was really great for us to receive such a rave review, not only about the hotel but also about the fantastic local Exmoor produce that we serve to our guests - a real showcase for the farmers and producers of the National Park and North Devon!
There is a copy of the article in the review section of the website - please have a look at it.
