Tapeley Park

There is a fascinating organic ethos at Tapeley Park overlooking the River Torridge  The walled kitchen garden is a delight with its rare greenhouse built in the early 1930s. There are greengages, plum and varieties of pear and apple trees Admire the Italian garden where the beds were originally dug by hand. All manner of semi-tropical and tender plants thrive in the south-facing borders against a retaining wall. Walk down through the wood to the lake and picnic in peace and quiet, save for the birdsong.
